Philosophy
I believe that massage and bodywork play a great role in bringing awareness back to the bodymind. Even though massage cannot heal per se, it is a great tool that helps your body remember its self healing abilities. It is under deep states of relaxation and free from stress that change can manifest and well being can be achieved.
About me
I am a proud graduate of the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB College), where graduated from the Associate of Science Holistic Health degree and Teacher Training Program, which allowed me to accumulate over 1,600 hour of training in Somatics, Massage and Bodywork with certifications in Structural Integration (Rolfing), Relational Somatics and Somato Emotional Integration. I am licensed with the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) and member of the National Certification Board for Massage Therapy and Bodywork (NCTMB) and Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
I practice two modalities of Deep Tissue work: Deep Tissue Sculpting and Rhythmic Deep Tissue. I'm well trained and experieced in Lomi Lomi, Swedish/Circulatory Massage, Esalen Massage, Sensory Repatterning/ Passive Joint Movement and Sports Massage. I also use therapeutic techniques from other modalities like Neuromuscular Therapy, Tui Na, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Jin Shin Acutouch and Energy Work, particularly Chakra Balancing.
About my specializations
Structural integration is based on Ida Rolf's work and aims to return the body to its structurally optimal position by lengthening and repositioning the fascia. It is done in ten sessions, each with a specific set of goals. When the body is aligned, it moves with greater ease and uses less energy. In addition, I will present you with tools to raise awareness so you can embody the changes and not go back to old patters that no longer serve you.
Relational Somatics is a psychophysical modality of bodywork that aims to deal with body trauma and PTSD. By accessing the body and having the client get in touch with feelings and emotions that arise, we create space for change. This modality requires the client to commit to do journaling and self exploration about their physical, emotional and mental states. The bodywork component of this modality involves a blend of techniques, depending on what the client needs at any given point in time. I require a minimum commitment of ten sessions to explore this modality with new clients.
Somato Emotional Integration aims to explore feelings, emotions or sensations that are stored in the body and can be origin of physical or emotional pain. The main objective is for the client to be aware of what is going in in their bodies and listen to the story the body is telling at any given time. Together we can find a way to bring body and emotions into balance.
About my work
I use an intuitive approach to my work. Gathering information from the initial interview with the client and my visual and tactile assessment skills, I create a session that's unique to each client to meet particular needs. My touch can fee light as a feather or heavy as a rock.
